When I have compared Trump’s campaign to Adolf Hitler’s ascension to power, almost everyone insists that is a ridiculous association!
Yet Hitler came to power after receiving more votes than the other candidates—not a majority of the votes—and the violence that followed led to his appointment as being appointed Chancellor. We all know the rest.
Today we have this authoritarian from New York who warns that “bad things will happen” if he isn’t automatically chosen as the Republican Party’s candidate.
Having represented South Dakota at conventions—a threat like his goes against the very political process in which we believe.
In 1952 Barbara Bates Gunderson, our then National Committee Woman, convinced the South Dakota delegation to switch to General Eisenhower, and the rest is history!
Yesterday’s New York Times article, “Donald Trump Warns of ‘Riots’ if Party Blocks Him at Convention” quotes Trump as saying:
“I think we’ll win before getting to the convention, but I can tell you, if we didn’t and if we’re 20 votes short or if we’re 100 short and we’re at 1,100 and somebody else is at 500 or 400, because we’re way ahead of everybody, I don’t think you can say that we don’t get it automatically,” Mr. Trump said. “I think it would be — I think you’d have riots. I think you’d have riots. I’m representing a tremendous, many, many millions of people.”
Where will Trump get the Brown Shirts to do this?

I consider him a bully…a very poor example for the youth of today. Where’s the pride we used to take in our leaders. South Dakota Governor Joe Foss won the Congressional Medal of Honor…a real leader…then we had the bully Bill Janklow who thought laws didn’t pertain to him. There’s been a serious decline in South Dakota…just an example of an uninformed, confused, and apathetic electorate. The few experienced leaders like Stan can’t get passed the necessary forward thinking the future needs when the majority are fighting over who to take rights away from next. Shame on South Dakota.
I am sorry, but Trump is the only one who understands what the voters want, who cares about our plight, who has any plan to address our frustrations. Everyone else is bought off, by Wall Street and even foreign governments. When will America create opportunity for its own people? I feel as though I have been living in the Matrix. Now, I have take. The red pill. We do not really have a voice. We do not vote. The party system is the problem. They run everything, and we are only allowed to chose from one of their guys. Go outside the arrangement, well, you see what you get. We want someone to represent the people again, not all the sweet deals the typical politicians have arranged. There is a real imbalance of power, and it is due to the two party system. George Washimgton himself was dead set against it. It os ripe for corruption. Trump is the only person crazy enough and with enough fighting spirit to take on the party system. We do need some riots. We need to overthrow the system that is there. Trump is not creating this sentiment! He is the only person who sees it. We the people want Trump. Of they can not stop that through slander, like the ahotler and KKK billshit, they will do it by exposing how we the people are not respected. It os mo longer a government for the people or by the people. That is what the establishment does not realize we now know. Well, we know. And we wonder why we are working to support a system that does not support is. It’s not just blue collar jobs lost to foreigners. We lost white collar jobs to foreigners, and we are way over our limit on all those working visas. But, grease a politician and that is all that matters, not jobs for us. I could rant all day, but what good would it do? We are Americans. We are supposed to feel very badly about that-very ashamed. Shit up and pay. That is the Republican message and the Democratic message. They prefer Hilary to Trump because she can be bought. All the anti-Trump crap does is expose the Republican Party as a bunch of crooks who have no respect for their constituents. They are too far right. And Mitt! It is not enough he lost one election, he wants to help lose two. I will vote Trumpbif I h e to write his name in. If that is not an option, I will do what others have done, quit voting. It’s not a democracy anyway.
There will be riots! Because it will be obvious that we no longer have a democracy!
