In my post “The hidden tax most people pay” posted on, February 8th, I explored the misconception that we will somehow save money by denying Medicaid coverage to the working poor. We are already paying those costs via higher insurance rates and higher hospital and medical fees.
Today I will address that hidden tax. In today’s Appropriations Committee meeting, I will submit an amendment to the General bill which will provide well deserved Health Care for thousands of South Dakotans who are the “working poor.” This amendment will provide nearly $60 million that is now being paid for by most South Dakota citizens—in annual Health Care premium increases.
Also, I will offer an amendment to increase pre-natal Health Care to save the lives of unborn babies and preserve the mother’s long-term health.

My belief is that if you’re going to start a blog you need to keep it up.
